Back to School Blog Hop Day 6!

Welcome Blog Hop Day 6!!

Wow! This blog hop is into day 6 and is quickly coming to an end!! This will be my final project for this hop! I hope you have enjoyed my projects along the way and will continue to stop by and visit! Be sure to check back on August 16 when I will draw and announce the winner!

Now onto my last project! As some of you know I am a card maker, I love to make cards! But I decided back in February to attempt to make an 8 1/2X11 Scrapbook for a friend who is not so crafty and give it as a Christmas present. So through all the wonderful challenges that I have come across I have been able to complete many pages! But this one I made for the hop.

I ended up buying a Perfect Pages Grade School Kit to make this one! The apple cut is from DoodleCharms. You can click on the image to get a better view!

If you are here for the blog hop for the first time, please click here to be directed to the original posting, The original posting is the only comments that will be entered for the blog candy! I am the last blog for the hop!

Our hop will soon be coming to an end! I hope you check back in!
In case you get lost along the way here is a list of blogs to hop along:

I also wanted to take this time to thank all of you that decided to follow me, even though it was not required to win my blog candy! I appreciate all of you that have been popping back and I will be coming around once I am caught up to visit!

I also wanted to answer a few quick questions that I received.

What did I use to adhere my projects together?
Mostly my ATG gun, I did also use my Scotch quick dry but this is what always happens when I use the Scotch:
Yes, that is a big blob of glue! I don't know why this happens! The top flys off! SO mainly my ATG gun!

Where do I find my acetate paper?

I usually buy it from Office Max, they carry it in their special copy and printing area.... but you can also buy the clear protective folders that you use as a report cover and that works perfect too!

The candy box is cut at 5 3/4 but is actually only 4 1/2 X 3 1/2 once assembled so it is to small to fit a set of standard A2 size cards.

The paper for the composition notebook was from DCWV Fun in the Sun Summer Stack.

Cookie the little hamster is alive!! Thank Goodness!! She recovered from complete exhaustion from being played with! And her friend loved the card!

How do I do it? I am abusybee! I love to stay busy! I am a night owl so I stay up super late, I do work full-time outside of the house, I do have a husband and children, I do cook dinner five nights a week, I am a list making control freak, my house is spotless except my craft corner... Don't hate me!! Here is my secret.... my big secret is.... I don't watch T.V.!! Only one show for one hour once a week and when it is in season.... MadMen!! That frees up a lot of time for me to craft! LOL!! So that is it that is how I do it! Feel free to contact me via my "contact me here" on my sidebar to chat, have questions or discuss Don Draper!

Thanks for joining in on the hop and a special thanks to Georgiana, Dorcas, Cheryl, and Jen! They all worked so hard and all the projects were amazing! Thanks Ladies!

Blog Hop Day 5 !!

Welcome Blog Hop Day 5!!
My girls have to read tons of books for school! They have an advanced reader program and you have to stick with a strict schedule to complete the reading requirements and every book has a level, a quiz number and a point value. Because I am a control freak, I labeled all our books with post it notes and wrote out all the info and stuck it to the inside of the book. ( I know I know I have a problem!) Anyways~~ I noticed them using my post it note as a book mark, and my problem with that is by the time they get to the end of the book, the post it note is no longer sticky and is lost.... so I decided to make them special book marks to use instead!!

These were fun and easy to make! All you need is some jumbo paper clips, some liquid glue and about a cut about 1 1/2" cut both ways.
I used DoodleCharms for the Apple cut at 1 1/2".
I cut it once in green for the leaf, then in brown for the stem, and then again in red.
I then hit the flip button and re-cut all the cuts so that I could glue the apple together around the paper clip and have both sides covered.
I used Scotch Quick dry adhesive to keep it all together.

I also did the same thing using Paper Pups, since our school mascot is the tiger, but because we are an elementary school we use the tiger paw and our colors are orange and black so I made these for my girls, and the apples for the teachers.

Blog Hop Day 4 !!

Welcome Blog Hop Day 4!!

Today I will be showing you a gift box that is so fun and easy to make!

This box is on page 80 of the Wild Card Cartridge, it is the giftbox 2 (so use the shift button)
I picked a 12X12 sheet of pattern paper from the Color Bok School Life pack, I did use a heavier paper because I am putting treats on the inside. I used the fit to page button so this would cut it as large as it can on a 12X12 sheet and it cut it at 5 3/4". I scored all the lines then I measured the open window and glued in some acetate paper that was 3"x4". I then glued the box together.

Here is the front:

Here is the back:
Then I filled it with LifeSaver Candies:
And added some red twine to help keep it all together!

I will have my chickie give this to her teacher so she can have some treats in her desk!

I'm sure you can tell I love super fast, simple and fun projects! I learned if I think about it, and think about it my projects look busy and I never like them. Now I just go with my gut and say less is more and now I always like how they look! It is easier to add than to take off!

** For those of you who have asked, I used my ATG gun to adhere all my projects together.**

If you are here for the blog hop for the first time, please click here to be directed to the original posting, The original posting is the only comments that will be entered for the blog candy! I am the last blog for the hop!

Be sure to come back all week long for fun and exciting ideas!
