Now that the Arizona summer is coming to an end and the cooler weather is upon us, I am seeing more and more homeless people while I travel for work. My girls spent last week restocking my car with bags of supplies for me to give out. You can see the bags HERE.
A quick story, I didn't always include cards in my bags, one day I just decided a more personal touch might really make someones day. This past week I was driving and passed a homeless person sitting on the opposite side of the freeway, so I pulled off went around to the other side of the freeway, squeezed onto the shoulder and gave him a bag. I ended up having to make a u-turn, and I was sitting at a red light and I looked over as he was digging thru the bag and pulled out the card that was inside. Not the water, not the candy, not the snacks, it was the card. It honestly made me cry! So now I make sure every bag has a card, so that they know that someone does care.
Here is one of my cards:
Cactus is from Ye-Haw Cricut Cartridge
I ran it thru my Xyron machine and covered it with Glitter to make it sparkle
All the paper is from my Scrap pile

I am originally from New York and came to Arizona in 1992. My Husband and I love Arizona and think it is a great place to raise our girls. We love to hike, run, bike, and raft all through~out the state. I thought I would share some of our Arizona experiences:
It does not snow where we live. We drove our girls to see the snow when they were 7 and 8 years old and they hated it! 9 out of the 12 months the weather is perfect in Arizona. It is the reason we live here. Most people hibernate in the winter, we hibernate in the summer. It is hot in the summer, it is a dry heat but 112 is still hot! Cd's have melted in my car and bottles of hand sanitizer have exploded. You can where Flip Flops all year round. In the summer it is light from 5:00am till 8:00 pm.
Here is a picture taken in December 72 degrees:
Here is the temperature in my car in July:
We have crazy "Sand Storms"
And Dry Storms:
And Spooky Storms:
My Daughters and I hunt, capture and kill scorpions all over our house:
We use a black light to find them.... This one was in my ice-tea:
And I have some blog candy to share too!!

Arizona
The challenge over at Serenity Scrappers is: favorite weather in your neck of the woods.
Since I live in Arizona it seems to always be hot! So my favorite weather is the first week of December it is usually between 65 and 70 degrees! It is when we decorate our palm trees with Christmas lights.
I used Doodle Charms for the Palm tree, Destinations for the Arizona and Create a Critter for the lights.
