We hit the road and decided to go camping up in the Superstition Mountains! It was an adventure just getting the four of us out of the house! We left and had to turn around two times! Once for the tarp and then for the tent!
Once we settled in our whole trip was filled with fun and laughter!
First off we camped in a very isolated area so we were alone and it was super quiet. Also we live in Arizona so we are surrounded by cactus and other pointy and strange trees! While we were walking out of the corner of my eye I see large long legs... nothing else! So I calmly yell to my Husband who is much closer to it than I am... I see a LARGE set of legs!! Ha! It turned out to be a wild cow! Three of them! Just wandering thru the terrain! I thought this was very odd! Why are there cows in the middle of no-where??
This was what we saw from our campsite (The Lost Dutchman Gold Mine)
Real SMores!
We had a huge campfire, yummy smores and then we turned in for the night. It is super creepy to be laying out in the dark and hear NOTHING!! It was so quiet it was scary! A few hours in we hear the scariest, loudest spookiest Howling of a Wild Coyote Pack! I was seriously having a heart attack! The only thing I could think about was how we are in a plastic tent! We are never going to make it! And I was even more worried when my very large dog started to whimper and tried to squeeze into my sleeping bag!
But Husband saved the day by going out there to make some loud noise and make the fire huge!
Real smores! What a cool trip! Also, you got some awesome finds at Michaels!
ReplyDeleteHow fun, I wish I was somewhere that we could camp but it is too cold here! Great haul at Michaels also :)

Your camping trip sounds like a totally fun and exciting adventure!! LOL I am still laughing about your dog trying to crawl into your sleeping bag for you to save him!! LOL Yeah for the big strong brave hubby saving the day (er...night ha). Cows...? Odd. Smores....YUM!!
ReplyDeleteYour adventures at Michaels are more my speed!!! LOL Your goodies make me jealous. ha
My daughter made dinner tonight. She made Rigatoni con Ricotta. Basically a lasagne with rigatoni noodles instead of lasagne noodles. She had some help from her brothers - one of them made a salad and one made garlic bread. YUM!! I will have to do a scrapbook page about it.
Looks like fun! I ended up at Michael's twice this weekend :-)

Yay for the hubby! LOL! You are braver than me - we tried camping ONCE in the camground of the Florida everglades! You haven't lived til you've spent the night out there, lol! Suffice it to say we turned the car on in the middle of the night due to me being hysterical and finally ended up in the nearest hotel, 50 miles away! That was 20 years ago, ROFL! Sounds like a good time and nothin' like a good old fashioned s'more!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff from Michael's Carri! I am not a camper, so I can't even begin to imagine the dark, scary silence, and then to have the coyotes howling! I'd probably jump outta my skin. Too funny that your dog was none too happy with it either! Nice that you can do short trips like that. Your scenery is so beautiful. TFS!-Pat N.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! Makes me VERY hungry for some real s'mores! :)Amy
