** A little bragging***
My daughter won 1st place in the entire 4th grade writing contest!! I was so super excited for her and such a proud Mom!
So while I was folding laundry and fast forwarding her life I started to think about all the clubs she would apply to and her speeches and I thought she will probably need to know what awards she has received, what extra curricular activities she is involved in, community service projects and more. Since I am a huge list maker I came up with idea:
A record book of achievements!
I used 8X5 index cards and labeled them from Kindergarten to 12th grade. I decorated each card just enough leaving plenty of room to list awards, activities and other school related things.
I laminated the front and back cover. I had her decorate the back cover herself and I wrote a personal note to her on the inside of the cover before I laminated it.
Now when ever she receives and award or is in a sport I will have her jot it in her achievement book!
It is not so important for the younger grades but as she gets older it will be important to keep track of all these things! And I think it is a great motivator! I made two of these books, one for her and one for her sister, they loved them!
I used Peachy Keen faces PK640 & PK754
Locker talk Cricket Cartridge and April showers
All the rest is cut from pattern papers
Entering into:
Peachy Keen: LFIF Organize it!
Wow, that is quite an accomplishment, congratulations to her!!! That is wonderful that she loves to write :) Really cute brag book, that will come in handy :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. It will be useful when she's in high school and wants to apply for scholarships... Believe it or not, it's time to start gathering data now, much easier than trying to remember it later!
