Gobble Gobble! A turkey page for my Smashbook!

Theme:  Thanksgiving must include a Turkey!

I started cooking a turkey for Thanksgiving when I was 19 years old, I won't lie and tell you every one was a success! My first few years were rough, like not knowing that a turkey takes 3-4 days to thaw out, not knowing the turkey has some surprises from both ends that you actually need to pull them out before cooking, thinking a thin throw away tin pan will hold a 18 lb turkey... well I could go on, but 20 years later I consider myself a pro-turkey cooker! I do tend to take a photo of my well cooked bird just for fun so of course this year my photo will be going in my smashbook! Along with a fun list of turkey know~ how for my girls! I decided to use brads so my scallop squares can be used to hold a photo and I was able to journal under them!

Some news to Share and Thank you very much Tag!

I have some personal news to share, for those of you that have been around my blog for a while know that we have a Grandpa Living in a VA Home in Georgia.  We received the sad news that he passed away yesterday. I am so blessed that we were able to see him the last time we were in Georgia, and for the time we all spent time together. We sent him many handmade cards which he proudly displayed in his room and I am very happy that he was able to receive the last card that I sent him for Halloween. Please pray for us as we mourn the loss of our Grandpa.


On a lighter note I have been making little tags to use inside the packages of the skittles I have been mailing out. Thank you to everyone that has purchased my handmade skittles! I am looking forward to seeing the crafty projects made with them!

Design Time Thursday! To my One and Only... Heart Card Gypsy Style!

Theme:  Use your Gypsy

This is a SPECIAL challenge with a HUGE opportunity!! Did you know that Cathie is the author of the Cricut Expression book? Well she is working on a Gypsy book!! Every entry will be considered for publication in her up coming book!! Isn't that So exciting!! We are looking for ALL levels of the Gypsy.

Be sure to keep good notes on your project! Sizes, techniques, cartridges etc will all be needed if your project is chosen!

 Here is my Project:

From Twinkle Toes Label welded to make the card base Size 9.75X5.23

Shift for 1 layer Size 4.62X4.41 and 2nd top layer Size 4.25X5.11

You will need to use the reverse button to swap the side the heart is on.

From Paper Pups I added the heart from Shift and used the hide feature to have it only cut one heart layer. I copied onto each of the layers to cut the heart out. Size 1.29X2.88

Using clear acetate I cut 2 more Shift . I added some heart bling and carefully taped the acetate together. Size 4.01X3.82

For the inside I also cut Shift to hide the acetate. Size 4.72X5.60

Inside layers are Shift Size 4.62X4.41 and 4.25X4.06

From Twinkle Toes I used Using the stretch feature I made it fit exactly to my card layer. Size 3.28X1.12
